King Britt has reigned over contemporary electronica for longer than most DJ/producers have been in the scene. His resume is a potpourri of sound and style, and his name is associated with everything from hip-hop joints to deep house grooves, funk to ambient and experimental. He’s written and produced dozens of original tracks and remixed countless others for some of the biggest names in the industry. He has toured the world with Grammy-winning Digable Planets and rocked dance floors on the solo DJ tip. So what’s left for the man who has done it all?

The Nova Dream Sequence is the next step in the journey. The disc is an unmixed compilation of original cuts, a soundtrack hatched from King’s own science-fiction dreams. Mood ranges from minimal dubs to brain-funking repetition; sometimes hitting you upside the head with chugging techno, then letting you get to your feet with some deep melodies. King Britt says that his new album is “keeping the sensuality and sexiness I am known for and combing [it with] the aggressiveness of techno; this album brings the ‘Sexy Tech’ sound to you.”
