We’ve all been there before.  You’re out with your peeps.  Liquor, a liver’s best friend, is flowing.  Everybody’s lit.  It’s truly a night worth immortalizing…or at least remembering in the morning.  Phone cameras couldn’t possibly do it justice, though (especially phone cameras operated by said sh!+ faced individuals).  Magically, an apparently sober photographer materializes out of thin air and offers to do the honors.  Afterwards, he hands you a card.  It’s hard to read when the room is spinning…but you force it in your pocket for later.

Social networking sites are certainly nothing new.  MySpace’s gazillion dollar price tag a couple years ago proved that.  Popularity definitely has its downfalls, though.  What good is MySpace when it’s cock blocked by your work server?  What’s an employee gotta do to goof off on company time these days?  Fortunately, there are alternatives.  Dan Meinerz wants Denver2Night.com to be your plan B.  Many veteran mile high clubbers are already familiar with the site for its extensive nightlife photography.  Not all are aware of its additional functionality, though.  Networking is possible, along with guest list management and event ticket sales, among other things.

“People create profiles, they can even invite friends and their friends join up and they can see their pictures and share events, all that kind of stuff.”

Cities2Night.com, the umbrella company which owns Denver2Night.com (among many others including NewYork2Night.com, Indianapolis2Night.com and NewJersey2Night.com), was first launched by a promoter named Brian Nagele over seven years ago in Philly.  Dan first made Nagele’s acquaintance via an event here in Denver at the Jet Hotel.  Skeptical at first, Dan was quickly impressed by the cyber-groundwork that Nagele had already laid.  He and & Entertainment partner Ashley Tomkins were being wined and dined to run the Mile High Club wing within no time.  The pair soon approached kindred spirit Greg Bloom (Image’s own Publisher) about co-promoting events.  Halloween at Theorie was the first of many such experiments (J-Fly was also involved).  The place was at maximum capacity, with a hundred people in line, from 10:45 to close.  One in, one out.

“Why should somebody sign up for a free membership? We take care of our members.  Every weekend, we do these VIP open bar parties.  Somebody signs up to a guest list and they’re either getting an open bar for a couple hours, they’re getting a couple free drinks.  Something to drive traffic early.  That's kinda the biggest challenge, getting people to the bar early."
