Monday may be the single toughest night to promote anything in club land. After all, the majority of “normal” working stiffs have day jobs. Strangely enough, though, two of the Denver’s longest running, successful club nights kicked off on that very eve: Skunk Hotel at the Snakepit and Lipgloss, at its original location 60 South (currently 3 Kings). Monolith Festival founder Matt Fecher, flying under the DJ Hot to Death moniker, recently decided to try his luck at the same uphill battle. The Larimer Lounge apparently agreed to reap its semi-limited rewards. Numbers have definitely been respectable thus far since its official inception a few weeks ago. Fecher has quickly manifested an industry night that few can compete with, boasting guest DJ slots from the likes of major label signees Meese and blogosphere queen Heather Browne. Colorado music poster boys The Fray were even in attendance two weeks ago. The crowd peaks early, as imagined, but the networking potential is ginormous. As is the cool factor. Anyone who considers themselves more than a mere armchair local music lover owes it to themselves to check it out.
